How are my 20s over?!?!? As I reflect on my 20s, I am amazed at how much I’ve grown and the invaluable life lessons I’ve learned along the way. I’ve moved numerous times. I bought a house all on my own at the age of 25. I was married at a young age and divorced by 24 years old. I have worked in the dental field, I’ve worked as a CNA, at Costco as a forklift driver, I’ve started and grown my own business and somehow, at the beginning of my 30s I have found myself completely working for myself as a content creator. I though it would be fun to right a quick little post about what I have learned in my 20s! Let me know what you think and if I have left anything out!

  1. Embrace Change:

Life in your 20s is often change after change. Embrace it! Whether it’s starting a new job, moving to a different city, or letting go of toxic relationships, change is inevitable and often leads to personal growth. Embracing change fosters adaptability and opens doors to exciting opportunities you may never have encountered otherwise.

  1. Failure is the Stepping Stone to Success:

In my 20s, I realized that failure is not the end; it’s a stepping stone to success. Many great achievements are because of my numerous failures. Embracing failure with grace and learning from it is the key to resilience. It’s okay to stumble and fall – just make sure to get back up, stronger and wiser!

  1. Prioritize Self-Care:

During this decade, it’s easy to prioritize the needs and expectations of others above your own. However, neglecting self-care can lead to burnout and unhappiness. Take time for yourself, nurture your passions, and indulge in activities that recharge your soul. Remember, you can’t pour from an empty cup.

  1. Nurture Relationships:

Friendships during your 20s may undergo significant changes. Some friendships will deepen, while others may fade away. Nurture the relationships that bring positivity and support into your life. Surround yourself with people who lift you up and share your values.

  1. Manage Finances Wisely:

Financial responsibility is crucial in your 20s. Start saving early and cultivate good financial habits. Avoid unnecessary debt, budget wisely, and invest in your future. The financial decisions you make now will have a profound impact on your life in the years to come!

  1. Keep Learning:

Be open to new ideas, and continue acquiring knowledge! Whether it’s pursuing higher education, attending workshops, or simply reading books, investing in your intellect will pay dividends throughout your life.

  1. Embrace Uncertainty:

In your 20s, you might feel pressured to have it all figured out, but it’s okay not to know everything. Embrace uncertainty, as it often leads to unexpected adventures and personal growth. Trust that life has a way of unfolding beautifully, even when the path seems unclear.

  1. Health Matters:

Your health is your most precious asset. Prioritize physical and mental well-being. Regular exercise, a balanced diet, and mindfulness practices can significantly enhance your quality of life and help you manage stress effectively. I have never understood how people can prioritize a car payment of $400+ but can’t justify a $150 gym membership! Your health is the most important thing you can invest in!

Reflecting on my 20s, I can confidently say that they have been a time of growth, transformation, and empowerment. Embracing these eight life lessons has not only shaped my identity but has also given me the strength to face whatever challenges lie ahead. To all the young women out there, I encourage you to embrace your journey, learn from every experience, and grow into the incredible person you are meant to be. Oh and start a daily skin care routine! I didn’t develop one until I was 29…. Start when you turn 20!
